Overview
We are looking for a Medior TypeScript Developer to strengthen an existing Data & Middleware team. The successful candidate will build and maintain data bridges, custom connectors, and event pipelines that distribute data between various production systems, including Sales, Operations, and Customer Systems.
The platform operates at scale through an Event Data Hub. The role focuses on extending existing functionalities, integrating new systems, and ensuring reliable and secure data flows. The ideal candidate has strong TypeScript and Node.js experience, a good understanding of distributed systems, and the ability to translate functional requirements into robust technical solutions.
The position requires autonomy, self-discipline, ownership, and the ability to work effectively in collaboration with business analysts, product owners, system owners, and technical colleagues.
Job Responsibilities
- Work with business analysts, product owners, and system owners to understand integrations.
- Define data mappings and error scenarios.
- Translate requirements into clear technical specifications.
- Develop backend services and data bridges, including event producers, event consumers, connectors, APIs, and data transformation components using TypeScript and Node.js.
- Extend shared SDKs and libraries.
- Occasionally develop simple configuration backend screens using React and Next.js.
- Deploy code through automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitor integrations and data flows.
- Investigate and resolve data-quality incidents.
- Actively participate in code reviews.
- Write and execute automated tests.
- Thoroughly test your own code before delivery.
Must Have Skills
- Approximately 3 to 5 years of professional experience with TypeScript and Node.js.
- Experience building backend services, APIs, workers, and data transformations.
- Strong functional-analysis skills, including requirements gathering, data modelling, and writing technical specifications.
- Knowledge of SQL and at least one NoSQL or messaging technology.
- Experience with automated testing and a strong habit of thoroughly testing your own code.
- Basic knowledge of distributed-systems concepts, including idempotency, retries, and ordering.
- Experience with Docker, CI/CD, and cloud environments, preferably Azure.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Fluent in English.
Nice to have
- Experience with event-driven architecture, Event Sourcing, CQRS, or projections.
- Experience with Azure Event Hubs, Kafka, gRPC, or Protocol Buffers.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Azure Kubernetes Service, or GitOps tools such as ArgoCD.
- Experience with React and Next.js.
- Familiarity with Clean Architecture or Hexagonal Architecture.
- Knowledge of Dependency Injection principles and practices.
- Experience working with shared SDKs and reusable libraries.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, such as Claude Code.
- Experience working with both SQL and NoSQL data-storage technologies.
