Overview
The ideal candidate is a seasoned .NET Developer with strong hands-on expertise in .NET 8, EF Core, and Blazor WebAssembly, complemented by solid experience with SQL Server, MongoDB, and RabbitMQ, along with a strong grasp of TDD practices; familiarity with microservices architecture is a valuable plus. This person should be comfortable working within established engineering standards to deliver high-quality, maintainable code as part of the Product team supporting Portals and Platform initiatives. Strong communication skills and a high level of accountability are essential, as is fluency in either French or Flemish with a passive understanding of the other, plus working proficiency in English. The role is based in Brussels, making it well-suited to a collaborative, detail-oriented engineer who thrives in cross-functional, multilingual team environments.
Job Responsibilities
- Support Product team EPIC in Portals and Platform
- Develop and maintain .NET 8 applications
- Follow Elia's coding standards and best practices
- Ensure high-quality, well-tested code delivery
- Collaborate closely with existing development teams
- Implement TDD practices throughout development lifecycle
- Design and manage database interactions using EF Core
- Communicate progress and blockers clearly to stakeholders
Must Have Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with .NET 8
- Proficiency in Entity Framework Core
- Experience building applications with Blazor WebAssembly
- Solid knowledge of SQL Server database management
- Familiarity with MongoDB for data storage
- Experience with RabbitMQ messaging systems
- Practical experience applying Test-Driven Development
- Fluent in French or Flemish, plus English
Nice to have
- Experience with micro-services architecture
- Passive understanding of Flemish or French
- Prior experience working in Belgian corporate environments
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
- Experience working within utility or energy sectors
