Overview

IT and Application Project Manager is responsible for leading IT projects, from selecting products through RFIs/RFPs to overseeing implementation and integration. The role requires managing projects based on standard market products, collaborating closely with technical architects and developers, and delivering clear functional designs for development teams.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the integration of customer requirements through performing and/or coordinating configurations of different software components.
  • Perform fit-gap analyses of software components linked to their product to identify which requirements can be met through configuration (“fit”) and which require custom development (“gap”).
  • Assess whether a “gap” is acceptable or requires custom development, defining functional and technical requirements, translating user stories, and consolidating functional designs.
  • Possess strong expertise in specialised software components and demonstrate how the software capabilities add value to the company’s products, including understanding advantages and limitations.  
  • Maintain domain expertise of the products they are part of, except for non-domain-specific products.
  • Oversee the integration and adaptation of the software into the company’s other systems and products, coordinating with other functional and technical platforms during the development phase.  
  • Define and evaluate technical requirements for RFPs and contribute to functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Support software adherence to company’s internal IT standards, including security and technology guidelines.
  • Actively contribute to the solution architecture of the product to ensure it meets functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Provide support for very specific features requiring expertise (e.g., EMS) by assisting testers in preparing and executing test scenarios

Must Have Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Information Technology, Master’s degree, or equivalent by experience (preferably with a specialisation in electricity).
  • Several years of relevant experience as a Project Manager responsible for selecting IT products through calls for tender (RFIs/RFPs) and overseeing their implementation and integration.
  • Proven experience managing IT projects based on standard market products.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical architects and developers.
  • Good knowledge of PRINCE2 and Agile methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing functional designs to provide specifications for development teams.
  • Analytical mindset with strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at technical, conceptual, and executive levels, with excellent presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel internationally a few days per month for project collaboration with Group companies and partners.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the latest IT developments.
  • Fluent in French and/or Dutch with excellent knowledge of English.

Nice to have

  • Experience in the electricity and/or energy sector or in Asset Management is an advantage. 
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. 
  • Result-oriented, structured, and organised.
