Overview
GIS Specialist / Project Lead with 5+ years’ PM experience delivering GIS projects in infrastructure or development contexts. Leads ArcGIS-based initiatives, ensuring data quality, stakeholder alignment, and project delivery. Skilled in GIS principles, PRINCE2/PMBOK, MS Office, and MS Project. Communicates clearly and manages multiple projects in a structured, proactive way. Fluent in Dutch.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate thematic GIS projects within the organisation.
- Monitor project progress and ensure alignment with stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates and ensure smooth communication between teams.
- Organise and deliver training sessions to support change management.
- Communicate updates and improvements across the organisation.
- Engage appropriate profiles to support GIS adoption and usage.
- Document workflows, procedures, and best practices.
- Promote knowledge sharing within the GIS team and across departments.
- Provide expert input to align solutions with the overall GIS vision.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of GIS data.
- Implement validation processes and quality controls within projects.
Must Have Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in infrastructure or development projects.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with GIS principles (georeferencing, coordinate systems, GIS analysis, etc.).
- At least 2 years of experience with ArcGIS Enterprise / Pro / Desktop.
- Ability to communicate complex GIS concepts clearly.
- Skilled in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Project.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (PRINCE2, PMBOK, etc.).
- Ability to coordinate stakeholders and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to data quality and consistency.
- Fluency in Dutch is mandatory.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of ITIL Service Support is a plus.
- Experience with Agile / Scrum is a plus.
- Experience with tools such as JIRA and Azure Boards is a plus.
- Proactive, structured, and solution-oriented approach.
