Overview

We are seeking an experienced Medior Functional Analyst to bridge the gap between business needs and ICT solutions. The successful candidate will translate business analyses into functional and technical requirements, ensuring alignment with ICT strategy and clarity for developers, testers, and other stakeholders. This role involves collecting and documenting requirements, maintaining functional documentation, and translating business strategies into actionable, development-ready materials. The Functional Analyst will communicate effectively with teams, coach junior analysts, challenge business experts when needed, and may assume the role of product owner. A proactive, quality-driven attitude and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams are essential.

Job Responsibilities

  • Translate business analyses into functional and technical analyses for ICT teams.
  • Ensure the client has a realistic view of expectations.
  • Ensure developers clearly understand what is expected of them.
  • Ensure testers know what to verify and can design the necessary test environment.
  • Ensure analyses are aligned with the ICT strategy.
  • Collect and document requirements.
  • Report to users.
  • Monitor and follow up on developments.
  • Build and maintain functional documentation.
  • Translate business strategies into development-ready materials.
  • Ensure documentation is usable by the ICT team, including architects, technical analysts, developers, and testers.
  • Communicate and transfer knowledge, particularly to junior analysts.
  • Coach and challenge business experts involved in requirement definition.
  • Be able to assume the role of product owner when required.
  • Demonstrate a proactive and positive attitude in all activities.

Must Have Skills

  • At least 5 years of proven experience.
  • Solid experience in strategic analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of Business Process Modeling, UML, BPMN methods, and functional analysis.
  • Ability to clearly describe both desired and existing processes.
  • Ability to break down a solution into feasible and coherent steps (approach based on minimum viable products).
  • Capability to challenge existing processes and design effective alternatives.
  • Basic programming knowledge to communicate effectively with developers.
  • Basic knowledge of data management to query information and understand valid or erroneous processing.
  • Proficient in Confluence and Jira tools.
  • At least a basic understanding of testing methodologies.
  • Proactive and positive attitude toward quality.
  • Knowledge of English and at least one of the country’s official languages (French and/or Dutch).
