Overview

Security Management Specialist is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and enhancing the company’s on-premises Secrets Management Service (SMS) built on HashiCorp Vault – Enterprise Edition. This role ensures the security, availability, and seamless integration of SMS with the broader company ecosystem, including MS-AD, monitoring, backup, and SIEM systems. The specialist develops and implements OS and software upgrades, performs business continuity and vulnerability remediation activities, and investigates and resolves service incidents.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain, support, and enhance the on-premises Secrets Management Service (SMS), built on HashiCorp Vault – Enterprise Edition, together with its supporting tools, processes, and technologies.
  • Develop, test, and implement OS and software upgrades; plan and execute business continuity activities; and remediate security vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal company teams to ensure the availability, maintenance, and integration of SMS/Vault infrastructure with the broader company ecosystem (MS-AD, monitoring, backup, SIEM, etc.).
  • Investigate and resolve incidents affecting or potentially affecting SMS and Vault availability.
  • Drive service expansion by engaging stakeholders, reviewing offerings, and assisting application teams with adoption and automation.
  • Support application teams in onboarding digital secrets, including authentication method selection, secrets engine configuration, compliance reporting, policy enforcement, and full lifecycle management.
  • Partner with vendor delivery teams to design, validate prerequisites, and deploy features/solutions in a secure, resilient, and highly available configuration, ensuring full ecosystem integration.
  • Deliver regular reporting on key metrics, performance, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with agreed objectives.
  • Maintain and improve customer guides to support future onboarding activities.
  • Maintain and enhance the runbook for SMS infrastructure, collaborating with administrators to keep documentation current.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to ensure continuous service availability.

Must Have Skills

  • Strong experience with Secrets Management platforms, particularly HashiCorp Vault (Enterprise Edition), including authentication methods, secrets engines, and lifecycle management.
  • Solid background in Infrastructure and Systems Engineering, including OS administration, patching, upgrades, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts and integration with enterprise ecosystems such as MS Active Directory, SIEM, monitoring, and backup solutions.
  • Proven expertise in high availability, resilience, and business continuity planning for security services and infrastructure.
  • Strong incident and problem management skills, with the ability to troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis, and restore service quickly.
  • Experience working with vendors and delivery partners to design, deploy, and integrate enterprise solutions.
  • Knowledge of automation and DevOps practices to support application team adoption and improve secrets management processes.
  • Excellent documentation and knowledge-sharing abilities (runbooks, admin guides, onboarding guides).
  • Strong reporting and analytical skills, able to deliver key performance metrics and ensure accountability.
  • Willingness and ability to participate in rotational on-call support.
  • Sound knowledge of English.
