Overview
Business Analyst with 8+ years of experience, seasoned in Retail. Expert in Power BI target-state design, EDWH architecture, data lineage, metadata governance (Collibra), SQL analysis, and stakeholder facilitation. Leads report rationalisation, metadata enrichment, and requirements definition, aligning SAP BO reporting with future EDWH and Power BI through close business and technical collaboration.
Job Responsibilities
- Collect, review, and validate metadata for existing SAP BO iRAP local reports.
- Perform enrichment of the initial report batches as outlined in the DWHR Report Rationalisation Playbook.
- Map report owners, usage patterns, data sources, universes, SQL scripts, KPIs, and consumers.
- Apply the Rationalisation Framework: Retire, Replace, Refactor, Rebuild.
- Conduct relevance analysis based on active users, business process alignment, usage patterns, and technical dependencies.
- Use similarity matrices, lineage, and clustering logic to group reports logically.
- Facilitate working sessions with business teams to finalise rationalisation decisions.
- Lead business workshops for reviewing enriched group/batch inventories.
- Align with business leads, coordinators, and functional stakeholders to understand requirements and validate recommendations.
- Document business expectations and playback validated outcomes.
- Gather functional requirements for target Power BI reports and KPIs.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to create wireframes for new or consolidated reports.
- Ensure alignment with semantic models, business process flows, and future-state data architecture.
- Work with technical teams to compile end-to-end lineage from source systems, DWH views, and reports.
- Validate mappings for facts, dimensions, metrics, and calculations.
- Ensure metadata accuracy for Collibra updates (report catalog, SQL view catalog).
- Support estimation and planning activities.
- Contribute inputs to rationalisation and realisation estimation models (effort/complexity classification: S, M, L, XL).
- Validate complexity drivers such as pages/tabs, KPIs, transformations, visual types, and modeling requirements.
- Work with Migration Accelerator teams (metadata extraction, automation output validation) and Data Modeling teams (fact/dimension design alignment), as well as Power BI developers.
Must Have Skills
- At least 8 years of relevant experience, seasoned in Business Analysis in Retail
- Strong background in business analysis and enterprise reporting processes.
- Ability to analyse large report inventories and derive insights for consolidation.
- Familiarity with business KPI mapping, metric definitions, and functional workflows.
- Experience conducting stakeholder workshops and requirement-gathering sessions.
- Understanding of SAP BO, iRAP, SQL scripts, universes, and metadata structures.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts (facts, dimensions, lineage).
- Familiarity with Power BI, semantic models, and basic DAX fundamentals.
- Prior experience in report rationalisation, BI modernisation, or DWH transformation programs.
- Exposure to large retail or supply chain domains.
- Experience working in Agile/POD delivery models.
